On October 6, BTS’s V appeared at Celine’s Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show in Paris as an ambassador for the French luxury brand, alongside several Hollywood and K-pop stars, including the fifth-generation group TWS.
V warmly engaged with everyone in attendance and snapped cute pictures with them during the event. But on Korean web forums, his picture with TWS provoked contentious debates
After a post on Pann unexpectedly attacked V’s appearance in comparison to the younger idols, the photographs from the Celine event swiftly became a popular issue among Korean netizens.
The original poster claimed that V’s closeness to TWS members Shinyu and Dohun illustrated how a person’s physical attributes may affect how they seem. Though they pointed out that V appeared “less handsome” when he stood next to the “taller and smaller-faced” TWS members, he has always been considered one of the most attractive celebrities of his generation.
They wrote: “Shinyu and Dohun from TWS have small faces and great proportions. Although V is known as the most handsome among third-generation idols, he can’t be compared to the taller and younger Shinyu and Dohun. Honestly, this is the first time V looks less handsome.”
Hundreds of comments were left on the post in a short period of time, many of which criticized the comparison and charged that some fandoms were using the image to incite pointless fan fights. Others drew attention to the fact that V appeared taller than the TWS members in another picture that was taken at a party the night before the Celine event.
