On November 18, prosecutors requested a 2-year prison sentence and a fine of 126.63 million won in exchange for a 4-year prison sentence and 123 million won fines proposed in the first trial.
 
The court explained: 
 

He systematically purchased and used large amounts of marijuana over a long period of time using such delicate methods as digital currency. The accused also played an important role in this crime.

 
However, Jung Il-hoon’s lawyer appealed his client’s case, arguing that the actual time and amount of marijuana purchases made by Jung Il-hoon were exaggerated.

My time in the detention center was a time for deep reflection on the small and big mistakes I made in My life. I fully understood how drugs have ruined my life and the terrible damage they do to society. Jung Ilhoon’s lawyer added :

 In Jung Ilhoon’s case, there are more than two boxes of petitions sent by his fans abroad. There is a reason for him to come back into society, and he has the skills and obvious connections that allow him to be promoted. These are young people of an age where they should nurture their dreams, so It is believed that they will play an important role in society.

 
Jong Ilhoon is said to have submitted 87 letters since the start of the appeals trials.
 
On the other hand, Jung Il-hoon was charged with transferring about 133 million won to purchase a total of 826 grams of marijuana out of a total of 161 times between July 2016 and January 2019. He was enlisted on May 28 last year as a social service worker, but was sent to The Attorney General’s Office in July of the same year for a legal violation related to drug use. He then left his band BTOB in December 2020 after announcing his crime.
