Bang Chan’s sister stirs controversy over support for BP2’s Leo

Recently, Australian singer and influencer Hannah Bahng (Stray Kids’ Bang Chan’s sister) drew attention to X by publicly expressing her support for Leo, a contestant on the show Boys II Planet and former member of the pre-debut group Trainee A.

In a post sharing a video of Leo performing with Sangwon, she wrote, “Vote for Leo, my Aussie brother!!! He’s so talented and he’s seriously the sweetest guy. Debut Leo, debut!!!”

However, this kind message quickly rekindled an old controversy surrounding Leo. Indeed, his participation in the show brought to light lyrics he allegedly wrote during his Trainee A days, deemed by many to be misogynistic and offensive.

These lyrics, edited to be more violent, notably refer to provocative behavior towards women, even though Leo is fluent in English. Here is an excerpt from the lyrics in question:

” F*ck that h*e in my bank, yeah that sh*t stopped breathing. Tell that b*tch, took that b*tch to the store. Ain’t nobody gonna tell me why that b*tch ain’t breathing, why that b*tch stopped breathing. “

This case, which had already provoked a strong reaction at the time, remains very sensitive on social networks.

Faced with the numerous criticisms accusing her of ignoring this controversy by showing her support, Bang Chan’s sister chose to respond directly on X:

“I would never be friends with a misogynist. You don’t have to take my word for it, but I’ve known Leo for almost two years, and I can say with certainty that he truly has the kindest and gentlest soul.”

I know it’s easy to judge someone based on what you see online, but I had a deep conversation with him about this the first time we met. If you knew the whole story, you’d probably see it the way I do.

She explained that she knew Leo personally and that he did not match the negative image circulating online. She insisted that she had addressed this issue with him during their first exchange.
