J.Y. Park, founder and Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of JYP Entertainment, gifted Stray Kids with gold in celebration of their historic achievement on the Billboard 200.
On September 15 KST, Stray Kids shared several photos on their official Instagram account with the caption, “Thank you, PD-nim.” The photos show the eight members posing with J.Y. Park holding gold bars, with big smiles to mark the special occasion.
Park gave the gold gift in recognition of the group’s recent achievement: their fourth studio album, “KARMA,” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 for the chart dated September 6. With this achievement, Stray Kids became the first artist in the Billboard 200’s 70-year history to achieve seven consecutive No. 1 debuts. To honor this incredible record, Park reportedly gifted each of the eight members 20 gold don (approximately 75 grams), for a total of 160 don. The total value of the gold is estimated to exceed 100 million won, or around USD 72,000 (approximately Rp1.1 billion).
