BTS’s RM Donates 100 Million Won Each to Seoul Asan Medical Center and Korea University Medical Center on His Birthday.
After completing his military service, BTS members RM and V shared their discharge thoughts on the morning of the 10th at the sports park in Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. RM served in the 15th Infantry Division Victory Unit, and V served in the Ssangyong Unit of the Capital Defense Command, 2nd Army Corps. Due to safety concerns raised by the military, RM and V held their discharge ceremony at a separate location arranged by their agency.
BTS member Kim Nam-joon aka RM donated funds to domestic hospitals on September 12, his birthday.
On the 12th, the medical community reported that RM had given Seoul Asan Medical Center 100 million won and Korea University Medical Center another 100 million won as a development money.
RM stated, “On my birthday, I wanted to participate in something meaningful, so I decided to donate. I hope this can provide even a small help to patients who urgently need treatment but are suffering due to financial difficulties.”
Seoul Asan Medical Center plans to use RM’s donation to support treatment and surgery costs for economically vulnerable or underprivileged patients.
Korea University Medical Center also plans to use the donation to improve medical environments and expand various healthcare services.
Meanwhile, korean netizens praised RM’s generous donations, describing him as a remarkable personality with a positive influence. However, some revealed contrasting reactions between RM’s donations and those of other celebrities:
- So cool! Happy birthday, RM!!
- Donations aren’t easy regardless of the amount, really impressive~ I’ll support you~
- Great people seem to only do great things~
- Not long ago, a certain female singer donated to a hospital and got hate comments for it, but here there are only positive comments—how strange!
- Lol, donating to the hospital just for tax benefits or VIP perks, haha
- Really consistent, one of the many reasons I like him
- I wasn’t very interested in BTS, but after seeing RM mentioned on several YouTube channels, I’m now a big fan. Proud of him. And happy birthday!
- Cute, our Namjoon. Always supporting you. Respect!
- Got a bit chubby? Haha, you can really tell he’s back from the army. ^^ Come back soon~!
- Idol?
- Truly a well-behaved young man, smart and considerate. Hope your entertainment career goes smoothly without mistakes.
- Buddhist chaplain? Do they still have chaplains in the military these days?
- Someone said, for rich people, 100 million won isn’t much, but the value of 100 million won is equal to everyone… Some may donate for tax benefits, but donating like this is not easy.
- Big person, Rap Monster
- Last time he donated to forensic science too, seems he donates consistently in various ways. As expected, RM!! I’ve liked him since K was called a premium label.
- Using his birthday money meaningfully, what a great person~ Awesome!!
