J-Hope, a member of BTS, who just announced his comeback through a collaboration with LE SSERAFIM alongside an Instagram update, is facing backlash following W KOREA’s recent event.
On October 15, W KOREA held its annual “Love Your W” campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer, but it quickly became one of the biggest scandals in the Korean entertainment industry in 2025, after details were revealed that angered the public.
On that day, many celebrities attended the event, including BTS members RM, J-Hope, and V, as well as members of aespa, MEOVV, ALLDAY PROJECT, and several actors. However, what was supposed to be a meaningful campaign for awareness and fundraising for breast cancer patients ended up showing an irresponsible side, as celebrities were seen drinking alcohol and dancing to sexually suggestive songs glorifying the female body — during an event meant to support women who have lost parts of their bodies to the disease.
On October 19, J-Hope became active again on his Instagram account, sharing several photos as a hint for his upcoming collaboration with LE SSERAFIM on the song “Spaghetti.” This sparked outrage among Korean netizens, especially since no clarification or apology was issued regarding what happened at the event.
- “If it were a female idol posting this from her phone, she would’ve been torn apart with criticism ㅋㅋㅋㅋ”
- “He has absolutely no sense.”
- “It’s not even a scandal J-Hope caused, so what’s the problem? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ There were many other artists there — should they all halt their activities? Actresses Lee Young Ae and Jeon Yeo Bin attended too, and their dramas ‘Good Day to Be a Dog’ and ‘Kind Woman Boo Semi’ are airing normally.”
- “Why does he act like that? They say ‘if you stay silent, you stay neutral,’ but he can’t even do that simple thing.”
- “This man doesn’t even attract enough interest to be criticized, but he acts like he’s asking for it himself.”
- “That’s why he doesn’t get attention no matter what he does.”
- “People are making a fuss over just one post… no wonder dealing with Pann users is such a headache.”
- “There are so many crazy people in the comments — how can you say he’s not popular? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ If he really weren’t, posts like this wouldn’t even exist.”
- “No comment on those saying others are fine too… If someone that lacking in awareness enjoyed the party without a second thought, don’t talk about having a ‘good personality.’ You’re no better than the others you criticize.”
- “This is just a teaser for his new song dropping this week. The original poster must be mentally ill.”
- “Apparently because J-Hope is unpopular, BTS got bashed first ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Since when did you all care about breast cancer campaigns? It’s obvious you’re just looking for a reason to attack. If you’re that righteous, start by going after W KOREA staff.”
- “Does he not have any social awareness? He probably knows he’s the unpopular member and doesn’t care.”
- “He doesn’t even get criticized because he’s not popular.”
What do you think?
