ZeroBaseOne leader Sung Han-bin apologized after a reaction he did on a YouTube show sparked online controversy.
On September 6, the YouTube channel ‘KkondaeHee’ released a video titled “ZeroBaseOne Wants to See It Until 100, A Meal of Chicken and Waffles (feat. Matthew, Han-bin)”, featuring Han-bin and Matthew Seok.
Matthew joked, “Han-bin usually has such a clean image, but he makes funny noises whenever we hit speed bumps on drives.”
Han-bin explained, “When you go over a speed bump hard, doesn’t it hurt your butt? We have a little meme we use to make the kids laugh,” and demonstrated with a moaning sound.
Encouraged by Kim Dae-hee, Han-bin even mimicked a female voice while moaning, jokingly saying, “I’ve let it all go.”
After the video went online, many fans criticized the reaction for being inappropriate and carrying sexual connotations.
On September 7, Han-bin posted on the fan platform: “I went too far on KkondaeHee. There was no other intention, and I guess I got too greedy for variety content. If any ZerOZ felt uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize. I’m sorry.”
He added with a smile: “Let’s work on my speaking skills — Sung Han-bin.”
