According to IST Entertainment, the altercation occurred as Sunwoo returned to his dorm after finishing his schedule. Upon exiting the elevator and nearing his front door, he was confronted by a sasaeng fan who had been hiding in the emergency stairwell. Feeling threatened, Sunwoo immediately contacted a staff member from the agency. The staff quickly arrived, apprehended the intruder, and handed them over to the police.
During the incident, the fan attempted to flee, repeatedly striking Sunwoo in the process. The singer sustained multiple abrasions and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Thankfully, his injuries were not severe and are not expected to impact his ongoing activities.
IST Entertainment also disclosed other troubling incidents involving sasaeng fans. These included a GPS tracker being discovered on the group’s vehicle and intentional damage to their car tires. The agency has secured CCTV footage for these cases and filed police reports to prevent further harm.
The ongoing harassment from sasaeng fans has reached alarming levels, with unauthorized visits to dorms, agency offices, and private schedules becoming increasingly frequent. The agency issued a strong statement, condemning these actions and highlighting the emotional and financial toll on the members, their families, and acquaintances.
