Lee Chae-won is the real name of singer Tarzan, who was born in Ok-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan, South Korea. However, he lived in the United States for part of his childhood, learning English during his time there.
He attended Ok-dong Elementary School, Hakseong Middle School, and Busan Arts High School. He attended the Korea National University of Arts, where he majored in modern dance and graduated.

Before debuting with his boy group ALLDAY PROJECT, he appeared in the music video for i-Del’s “I Do” (as “Ji-Del”) (2023) and in NewJeans’ music video for “Supernatural” (2024). He also appeared in Hong Suk Chun’s “Jewel Box.”
