SBS is back with a new Wednesday K-drama, titled “Spring of Youth,” scheduled for May 6th. It will begin airing at 10:40 PM (KST), at the end of Golden Week in Korea. On May 7th, the network will offer two episodes back-to-back, before continuing every Wednesday.
This project marks the return of Wednesday K-dramas on SBS, which have been on hiatus since “Secret Boutique” in 2019. MBC also attempted a similar comeback with “A Good Day to Be a Dog,” starring Cha Eun-woo.
“Spring of Youth” is written by Kim Min-chul and directed by Kim Sung-yong, who made his mark with “Black Sun” and “Lovers.”
Plot summary of Spring of Youth:
The story follows Sa-gye, the lead singer and guitarist of the K-pop group “The Crown,” who is suddenly dropped from the group. His agency forces him to attend Hanju University, a choice he didn’t really make himself. In this new environment, he crosses paths with Kim Bom.
Kim Bom is a talented and passionate music student. She is the lead singer and keyboardist of the band “Tusagye.”
A former Ivy League college applicant, she changed career paths after her mother’s death. Today, she focuses on music composition.
Sa-gye and Bom grow closer, fall in love, and decide to form a new band. Their bond strengthens, but a rivalry arises with the arrival of Seo Tae-yang. Seo is the guitarist in “Tusagye” and a friend of Bom’s. His arrival creates tension in their relationship.

Seo Tae-yang comes from a family of doctors, but chooses music nonetheless. This choice causes conflicts with Sa-gye, both personally and artistically. The K-drama explores love, music, and ambitions in a university setting.
