SEVENTEEN’s Woozi and Hoshi Begin Mandatory Military Service

SEVENTEEN‘s Woozi and Hoshi will enlist as active-duty soldiers in the army to fulfill their mandatory military service.

In July of this year, Hoshi’s agency Pledis Entertainment announced Hoshi and Woozi’s enlistment, saying, “As their final official activities before enlistment, they will carry out their scheduled schedule, including the ‘HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING]’ performance and the video call event for their 5th full-length album ‘HAPPY BURSTDAY’, as well as fan signing sessions. Although they will not be able to participate in scheduled events after their enlistment begins, they will continue to interact with CARATs (fandom name) through various content they have prepared in advance.”

Previously, members Jeonghan and Wonwoo enlisted on September 26th of last year, and April 3rd. Woozi began his military service yesterday (15th), and Hoshi will enlist today as an active duty soldier, just like Woozi.

Woozi, in particular, touched fans’ hearts when he shared through a fan communication platform after the SEVENTEEN concert, “For the first time, I saw the members and CARAT (the fandom) laughing and enjoying the music I created on stage. That moment was truly joyful.”

Hoshi and Woozi formed a duo in March of this year and released their first single, “BEAM.” The accompanying fan concert, “HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT [WARNING],” concluded on August 23-24 at the Gwangju Women’s University Universiade Gymnasium.

SEVENTEEN successfully held their world tour “NEW_” concerts at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on the 13th and 14th. Although Woozi and Hoshi couldn’t take the stage, they cheered the members on from the audience and connected with the fans.

SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 and is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. Beginning with their debut song “Adore U,” they have produced numerous hits, including “Aju NICE,” “Manse,” “Eojwa Na,” and “Son Goku,” establishing themselves as a global K-pop group. Woozi, who is in charge of producing, is at the center of the group’s musical development. SEVENTEEN will hold concerts in Hong Kong on the 27th and 28th, five cities in the US in October, and Japan in November and December.
