Rami’s MAMA 2025 Content Absence Sparks Removal Rumors

On November 28, rumors about Rami being removed from BABYMONSTER began after she was taken out of the group’s content during the members’ participation in Day 1 of the MAMA 2025.

During that time, some fans noticed that when the group won the “Fan Choice” award, “DRIP” was played without Rami’s voice; her part in the chorus was replaced by Pharita, and her bridge part was replaced by Rora. Rora also sang her part in the announcements, and Rami was not mentioned in the speech.

A netizen wrote: “It’s officially over. They replaced #Rami’s voice in ‘DRIP’ to accept the Fan Choice award. If you’re going to stay silent, don’t expect the same from us.”

However, fans of the group quickly refuted the claims, stating that the song had a special stage version without Rami’s voice because she is currently recovering.

In May 2025, YG announced that Rami would halt her activities due to “ongoing health issues since her debut,” according to doctors’ advice. Rami was absent from the Asia leg of the “HELLO MONSTERS” world tour (starting from Singapore on May 17 until June). YG emphasized the priority of her health, in addition to her absence from the group’s comeback WE GO UP and her absence from MAMA.

Rumors about Rami being removed from the group are not new; they began in early November when Rami was deleted or blurred in some behind-the-scenes footage of the group’s songs “SHEESH” and “DRIP,” even though she was active and promoting at the time. This raised concerns among fans about the implications of YG Entertainment excluding her from the clips. As Rami continued to be absent from group activities, many saw it as a sign she might be leaving.

According to media reports, Rami also did not take the university entrance exam this year. Pharita confirmed last October that Rami is still struggling with health issues but is improving.

Going back to April 2024 during the filming of the “SHEESH” music video, YG announced that Rami suffered a serious medical condition — “pneumothorax” — which makes it likely that Rami is genuinely dealing with health problems. However, some internet users claimed that her absence might be due to cosmetic procedures.

  • “You’re exaggerating… They always change songs for live stages. Rami wasn’t kicked out.”
  • “The vocal center feels empty because that’s Rami’s spot… Hidden message: Rami is still with us.”
  • “Rami is still there… Stop spreading unnecessary rumors.”
  • “Don’t ruin Rami’s name… She’s still part of BABYMONSTER!”
  • “You’re all getting mad for no reason, and I don’t like it…”
  • “When your idol needs some rest, but fans start a war that stresses them out even more and draws more hate from other fans.”

Many fans expressed concern about Rami leaving the band:

  • “Now that Rami is out of BABYMONSTER, the group is left with a girl who screams, another whose voice cracks, and a fake copy doomed to fail.”
  • “I think Rami is already gone, but they can’t announce it because of endorsement contracts.”
  • “Without the main vocal who sings without screaming… BABYMONSTER is nothing without Rami.”
  • “People didn’t believe me… They’re erasing Rami, they replaced her voice in DRIP.”
  • “Not including Rami in SHEESH is unacceptable!”
  • “Rami is not coming back… Let’s move on.”
  • “Congratulations! But why wasn’t Rami mentioned? Rora sang her part… She’s definitely out.”
  • “If her fans don’t appreciate the group… let her go solo.”
