On November 1, BTS member Jin concluded the encore shows of his first world tour, #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR. The final concert took place at the Incheon Munhak Main Stadium, with fellow BTS members Jimin and V attending to show their support.
V appeared on stage as a guest to perform his song Love Me Again. After the performance, he expressed his gratitude and longing for ARMY, saying, “I’m really trembling, I missed you so much,” before tearing up emotionally at the end. Jin noticed his tears, helped him back on stage, and playfully encouraged him by saying, “You’re so handsome it’s annoying,” adding that he wanted to help him prepare for future group performances “without crying.”
Later, Jin invited Jimin to the stage to join him in performing several BTS songs — Idol, So What, My Universe, and Spring Day. During the completely improvised performance, Jimin didn’t have his in-ear monitors (IEMs) or a personal microphone, so he used a general mic, while V forgot some lyrics of Spring Day, adding a playful chaotic touch.
The live performance of Spring Day, which had no backing track and was entirely live, quickly became a hot topic on Korean forums, with some users calling it “disastrous”:
- “After finishing work, he’ll suddenly go up on stage without any preparation and sing, then they’ll say his in-ears didn’t work well, and comments like ‘but the fans had so much fun’ will appear one after another.”
- “Wow, was that really his live singing? ㅋㅋㅋ He sang so badly.”
- “All three of them performed poorly, but ARMY aunties (older BTS fans) should stop overhyping their faves. Now every forum is criticizing all three ㅋㅋㅋ”
- “He was literally searching for the lyrics… what an embarrassing situation ㅋㅋㅋ”
- “It was obvious he didn’t want to sing and was nervously looking around to avoid singing ㅋㅋㅋ”
However, many Korean netizens defended the performance, emphasizing that it was “completely spontaneous and heartfelt.” They pointed out that Jin, Jimin, and V hadn’t rehearsed beforehand, and that Jimin went on stage without any preparation or proper equipment:
- “Do you even know that Jimin went up with no preparation, no in-ears, and sang impromptu? The others did really well, but as usual, you ghosts attack over one imperfect moment. Disgusting.”
- “If you’d seen the live disaster of YG’s BangBang, you’d have fainted ㅋㅋㅋ Compared to that, Bangtan were way better. This wasn’t a ‘disaster’ at all.”
- “A disaster? ㅋㅋㅋ What exactly was disastrous, bug? Did he miss a note? What didn’t you like? ㅋㅋㅋ This is clearly reverse marketing. SM stans, stop being jealous.”
- “The hyungs were busy cleaning up the maknae Jungkook’s vocal mess ㅋㅋㅋ”
- “Collaboration between the defeated Bernies fans and SM stans. (A political joke about fandom wars).”
- “I clicked the link and actually enjoyed it. Why are you attacking them? Bangtan are victims of a hate campaign. If an SM idol did the same thing, everyone would be praising it ㅋㅋㅋ Jin sang beautifully in the end.”
- “Jungkook’s fans have time to fake likes on comments praising him but not enough time to raise his ratings ㅋㅋㅋ.”
