According to Korean media, Jungkook’s song “Seven” has set a new record, adding to its already historic record. The song, which rocked the world in 2023, has reached 2.5 million streams on Spotify.
According to Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, Jungkook’s solo song “Seven (featuring Latto),” released in July 2023, has surpassed 2.5 billion cumulative streams (as of August 18). This is the first single by a Korean artist to reach 2.5 billion streams.
Furthermore, Jungkook’s solo songs have garnered over 9.4 billion streams, the highest number among K-pop solo artists. Notably, Jungkook’s solo album “GOLDEN,” released in November 2023, is approaching 6 billion cumulative streams, proving his global popularity.
Jungkook’s influence is also evident in numerous charts and awards. Upon its release, “Seven (featuring Latto)” topped Billboard’s major charts: the Hot 100, Global 200, and Global (excl. US). It also holds the record for the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history (108 days).
Furthermore, last year, Billboard selected it as the most popular song in over 200 countries and regions worldwide, excluding the US, on its “Global Songs of 2024” list. The song topped the Billboard Global 200 and Global (excl. US) charts for 108 and 109 weeks, respectively, demonstrating its continued popularity even two years after its release.
The song also cemented their status as a global pop star, winning overwhelming awards at numerous international award ceremonies, including the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
“Seven (featuring Lato)” combines a captivating melody, warm acoustic guitars, and a British garage beat (electronic music created in the UK in the early 1990s). It’s an emotional serenade that expresses the desire to be with your loved one for a whole week.
Meanwhile, Jungkook is currently in Los Angeles, along with the entire group: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, and Taehyung, working on a reunion album scheduled for release in March 2026.
