On September 27, S.Coups, the leader of SEVENTEEN, surprised fans with a new post on Weverse, in which he talked about the controversy surrounding his brother’s recently opened café.
While fans continued to post photos to prove their visits to his brother’s café, he eventually shared his opinion.

S.Coups asked his fans (CARATs) to refrain from visiting the café, stressing that he has no connection to the place, saying: “I’ve seen a lot of videos of the café, but it has nothing to do with me, and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t spend your money there.”
He also asked that his comment be shared among fans: “Please help spread the word to many CARATs…! I know that a lot of CARATs are following him and visiting!”
He confirmed that he is not stopping fans from visiting the café because they like it, but emphasized that it should not be linked to him, saying: “These days, a lot of good things are happening, and with the upcoming unit promotions, I really didn’t want to touch on anything negative, so I hesitated. But since there are many problems with my brother, while I can’t stop CARATs from going to that café just because they like it, I don’t want it to be… Did you consume it for me or because of me? If you have CARATs around you, please share this!”
Opinions among Korean Netizens were divided regarding S.Coups’ post. While some saw his relationship with his brother as strained, others expressed disappointment that he revealed his family conflicts to fans.
- “Why does he have to spill his private family matters in detail…? I don’t get it.”
- “People say he goes to his brother’s bar often — isn’t that also fan–baiting? Then why only draw the line with the café?”
- “At first he just said ‘don’t go,’ but since fans didn’t listen, he added that he has problems with his brother. Relationships with siblings can be good or bad, what’s the big deal? Why are people dragging up the past to deny what he himself wrote?”
- “Isn’t this basically free promotion? The fans who already know his brother’s business will keep going, and those who didn’t know might now look it up.”
- “What exactly does he mean by ‘a lot of problems with my brother’?”
