G-Dragon Under Fire for ‘Inappropriate’ Performance

In March 2025, G-Dragon launched his second world tour titled G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch], in support of his highly anticipated third studio album Übermensch, which was released in February 2025. Despite the major success of the tour, G-Dragon is currently facing widespread controversy after a shocking and suggestive video surfaced online.

The video, which spread widely, shows G-Dragon sitting on a chair on stage while the audience records the moment. The controversy began because some viewers interpreted his behavior as inappropriate and seemingly sexual, even though some fans and other sources clarified that the behavior was non-sexual in its original context, and that the post may have been uploaded with questionable intentions.

The video has garnered more than 6 million views so far, along with thousands of replies and quote tweets criticizing what they called G-Dragon’s inappropriate behavior: “If I got caught doing this inside a car at midnight, I’d be labeled a sex offender. This man does it in front of thousands and gets away with it, lol what is this? No, I don’t think so.”

Meanwhile, fans defended him, pointing out that it was simply part of the performance and that he had no malicious intentions. Read the comments: “Not that I’m a big fan or know what’s going on, but it’s weird to me how a 5-second clip that looks odd gets looped to look even weirder without showing what actually happened, and people believe it. He was adjusting his posture while resting for a moment, ctfu.”

G-Dragon’s tour achieved massive commercial success, with most tickets selling out immediately. In the United States, he sold 33,600 tickets and grossed $9.3 million from just three shows, placing him at No. 30 on Billboard’s Boxscore chart for August 2025. The album Übermensch topped charts in Korea, Japan, and China, surpassing 200 million digital index points on Circle Chart.
