Despite the major success of the tour, G-Dragon is currently facing widespread controversy after a shocking and suggestive video surfaced online.
The video, which spread widely, shows G-Dragon sitting on a chair on stage while the audience records the moment. The controversy began because some viewers interpreted his behavior as inappropriate and seemingly sexual, even though some fans and other sources clarified that the behavior was non-sexual in its original context, and that the post may have been uploaded with questionable intentions.
The video has garnered more than 6 million views so far, along with thousands of replies and quote tweets criticizing what they called G-Dragon’s inappropriate behavior: “If I got caught doing this inside a car at midnight, I’d be labeled a sex offender. This man does it in front of thousands and gets away with it, lol what is this? No, I don’t think so.”
Meanwhile, fans defended him, pointing out that it was simply part of the performance and that he had no malicious intentions. The album Übermensch topped charts in Korea, Japan, and China, surpassing 200 million digital index points on Circle Chart.
