Recently, BIGHIT MUSIC’s new boy group, CORTIS, released their pre-debut song titled “GO!” and received mixed reactions online, particularly regarding a particular lyric.
One part of the song includes the line, “Wanna make a hit like a hitman, so I reload.” The lyrics mention the name HITMAN, which is already synonymous with Bang Sihyuk. HITMAN, or Hitman Bang, is Bang Sihyuk’s nickname as a music producer at BIG HIT before becoming a senior executive at HYBE LABEL.

Korean netizens acknowledged that the new BIG HIT group’s inclusion of Bang Sihyuk’s nickname in their pre-debut song was a “reckless” move, as Bang Sihyuk is currently facing controversy over stock fraud. Some of their comments were written like this:
- Chart manipulation, negative viral marketing, media control, public opinion manipulation, 18,000 documents, plagiarism… and they’re making these new kids call out stock scammers???
- They’re really trying to make their new kid go viral in such a ridiculous situation.
- Is this a concept, or does this group lack a conceptual identity?
- Is sucking up to Bang Sihyuk the group’s concept?
- I don’t think they know about Bang Sihyuk’s controversy, or are they deliberately trying to get the spotlight?
- You could be like them, committing a crime.
- They’re completely missing the point…
- Isn’t Bang Sihyuk in big trouble right now? What’s wrong with the lyricist…
- I understand they’re praising BIG HIT’s CEO and renowned producer, but in the current situation, it’s just a reckless move…
- When I listened to it, it was really shocking… Honestly, I was interested in them, but this is getting annoying.
- They did a lot of viral hype, but there’s no real figure/person behind it. Well, anyway, it’s probably just going to be known as chart manipulation.
- Well, that’s one thing, but the most annoying viral hype is about Cha Eun-woo. There wasn’t anyone who looked like Cha Eun-woo in the music video. Does he look that easy to mess with? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
What do you guys think?
