BTS’s Jimin Blocked From Interacting With Famous Guests At PFW

On October 1, BTS member Jimin attended Dior’s Women’s Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show as part of PFW (Paris Fashion Week). He stole the spotlight with his bold look, which received widespread praise from fashion and style outlets around the world. However, what sparked controversy were some photos and videos showing bodyguards preventing celebrities from approaching Jimin and taking pictures with him.

The controversy began when Jihoon Kim, a South Korean beauty content creator based in Germany with millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram, appeared in a new video talking about her experience with Jimin at the show.

Jihoon revealed that she met Jimin at the Dior Spring/Summer 2026 show during Paris Fashion Week, noting that he recognized her from a previous photoshoot and seemed ready to take a selfie with her. However, his manager “refused.”

She also shared a similar experience during New York Fashion Week, saying:
“I saw Jimin from BTS, asked for a selfie, and he wanted to take one because he remembered me… but his manager said no. I was sad.”

However, Jihoon was not the only one. Clips from the event showed that others, including fashion writer Derek Blasberg, also stepped aside when they approached the singer. France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, was also among the attendees. Opinions were divided over the strict measures taken by the bodyguards:

  • “This is not normal at all. Why are they preventing influencers from taking pictures or talking to Jimin? I would understand if they were fans who didn’t know personal boundaries. This actually happened at the last Dior show, where photographers and journalists weren’t allowed in.”
  • “Why are Jimin’s bodyguards stopping him from interacting with anyone and cutting off every chance for him to communicate with other celebrities or public figures? This isn’t good for Jimin.”
  • “Why wouldn’t they allow it? People want to take pictures with him. What’s the problem? Why is the manager interfering, and who gives the orders? Why is Jimin shadow-banned and trapped in this company while all other BTS members interact with other artists? I’m so upset. He’s an artist.”
  • “I don’t know the reason, but isn’t it strange that Jimin’s requests are always rejected, whether it’s for a music video or even a simple photo? Why doesn’t he interact with celebrities like the other members do? Yet people call it an exaggeration when we say the company has been at odds with him.”

Meanwhile, Jimin’s first appearance at Fashion Week after completing his military service drew massive global media and fan attention. Fashion outlets described his look as a “redefinition of masculine charm,” while WWD praised Jimin for having “stolen the show” from new creative director Jonathan Anderson in his first women’s collection for Dior. Even Glamour Brazil named him the “It Boy” of K-pop, noting that his appearance was “the distinctive touch that makes him an icon.”
