On August 22, BTS leader RM shared an emotional message on Weverse, discussing his experience after being discharged from the military and his current life with the all members in Los Angeles.
RM began his message with a heartfelt greeting to ARMYs and an update on the weather and how he’s currently spending his time in Los Angeles with all the members: “Hello. I hope you’re doing well. It’s been a hot summer. It’s been a little over two months since I got discharged. I’m living far away in Los Angeles, working, living, and playing with the members.”
RM described the experience as strange and emotional, likening it to the atmosphere of their variety show, Bon Voyage: “What a really strange experience. A bit like that strange feeling I get at the Bon Voyage trip in PyeongChang. Really strange, isn’t it?”
The BTS leader also shared his daily routine, revealing hard work and moments of deep contemplation: “Anyway, I feel like I’m steadily moving towards somewhere. I’ve had a lot of time to reflect since I got here. I wake up around 10:00 a.m., exercise, eat, then head to work around 1 or 2:00 p.m., and return around 8 or 9:00 p.m. After that, I sit alone on the balcony of our rented house, thinking a lot about the past, present, and future in these intertwined times.”
As always, His messages were not without his deep philosophical reflections that inspire his fans: “Honestly, I can’t fully comprehend any of them. I’m neither laughing nor crying at all, just moving forward day by day. It’s said that the “self” is actually an illusion. Scientists call it the sum of electrical signals in the brain. Buddha said it’s the result of a flow and interconnected causes.
He then reflected on what BTS truly means to him and the members:”I wondered… maybe our team is like that too. Not a static entity, but something that changes every day? In our hearts, “Bangtan” might be like pieces of paper, each a different color. Even I’m no longer entirely sure what it is, or rather, what it was. But there’s one thing: as I approach 30, and continue to create something with these friends, I want to dedicate myself to this very moment, and be grateful for it.”
RM didn’t forget to excite ARMYs about the band’s upcoming album: “As for what our next album will be like, I’m still figuring it out. But I hope the moments we shared here, in this faraway place, will turn into some beauty, something I’ve long forgotten. So I’m writing this, sitting on a summer balcony.”
RM concluded his message with warm words to ARMYs: “What color are you now? I miss you. It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? But when we meet again, it will feel like it’s never been that long. I promise. I’ll fly to you soon. Until then, I’ll do my best.
