An anonymous post has caused a stir online after woman claimed to have received 8 million won as “hush money” from a male celebrity‘s agency.
On July 28th, a post titled “My ex-boyfriend’s agency suddenly sent me 8 million won” appeared on the website Blind, an anonymous community for office workers. In the post, the OP (let’s call her Ms. A) alleged that her now-ex-boyfriend, male celebrity “B,” was having an affair.
Ms. A then stated, “Her agency said she (celebrity B) would be appearing on a variety show in six months and planned to reveal her marriage to her new boyfriend, but since the dates (of the broadcast and the wedding) might not match, her agency then said they would send me 8 million won. I was confused, so when I asked what they meant, their agency said their relationship (celebrity B and her new boyfriend) probably existed before B broke up with me. So, is this money being used as “hush money” so I can pretend not to know she’s cheating?”
Ms. A then replied to Celebrity B’s agency by saying, “Isn’t she (celebrity B) not planning to get married? And I’m free to refuse the hush money.” After that, Ms. A then gave a hint as to who male celebrity “B” was by explaining, “He’s not a particularly famous actor, but anyone over 30 would recognize him.”
After reading the post, Korean netizens quickly reacted with comments such as:
- It would be surprising if it were true, but I wouldn’t believe it if the OP didn’t release anything without proof.
- If that’s true, OP should have uploaded the details of the 8 million won transfer as proof.
