Recently, BTS members Jimin and Jungkook appeared on several Japanese programs to promote season 2 of the travel show “Are You Sure?”. However, the duo’s photoshoot for ELLE Japan sparked a wave of intense criticism.
The photoshoot that showed Jimin and Jungkook in different poses sparked discussions about excessive editing and even accusations of AI usage by the magazine’s editor. Some noticed that Jungkook’s lips partially disappeared due to what ARMY described as over-editing.

One netizen commented: “I know they used AI or something because I’m seeing Jikook and not seeing Jeikook at the same time… Elle Japan you’re going to hell.”
Another added: “I’m sorry, who the hell are these people? Why did they Photoshop them to the point they’re unrecognizable, oh my God, what is this, Elle Japan?”
Some fans even struggled to recognize Jungkook, with one commenting:“Why does Jungkook look like Jihyo here or am I hallucinating???”
A netizen, said: “The editing is so bad even in the videos. And it’s not because of bad lighting, thank God both of them have insane face cards.”
On the other hand, many ARMYs confirmed that these photos are completely normal and only the colors were adjusted, especially since the photos are intended for print and the quality needs to be high so it doesn’t deteriorate in the physical magazine copies.
As one netizen pointed out: “It only takes one stupid person to say something on Twitter and the fandom will follow I don’t know why you’re acting like this. Is this the first time you’ve seen a magazine photoshoot prepared for high-quality printing because they’re going to put it on pages?”
Another added:“ARMY couldn’t find anything else to do so now they’re complaining about the editing that every photoshoot magazine does because they’re too stupid and acting like this is their first time seeing a magazine. You all started this nonsense just because it’s Jikook and not the other ship you wanted.”
