NewJeans Returns To ADOR With No Apology to LE SSERAFIM & ILLIT

NewJeans announced their return to ADOR after losing the legal battle with their agency, which means they will once again join the other HYBE girl groups. During their previous dispute, NewJeans mentioned LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT, which sparked a wave of hate against the two groups.

In their legal fight, NewJeans claimed that HYBE had continuously discriminated against them and imposed restrictions on them compared to other groups under the company, while ADOR did nothing. They cited examples of unfair treatment, such as allegations that ILLIT copied NewJeans’ concept.

Previously, Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR, argued that “HYBE launched LE SSERAFIM first instead of NewJeans, even though NewJeans was supposed to be HYBE’s first girl group,” and that “ILLIT copied NewJeans.”

As a result, these artists faced negative public reactions and became targets of mockery and hateful comments, even on posts and content unrelated to the dispute.

Koreans’ opinions:

Meanwhile, Korean netizens are supporting LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT fans, pointing out the harassment both groups suffered due to the statements made by Min Hee-jin and NewJeans members during their legal conflict with ADOR:

“They even went to court to attack them, and after losing the case, they’re acting now as if nothing happened.”

“Even now on Twitter, they sexually harass LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT and post crazy hate comments ㅋㅋㅋㅋ.”

“They literally submitted false information to the court and begged with it.”

“While they were complaining about being ignored, their delayed debut, going to the National Assembly, doing live broadcasts, holding press conferences, and making a huge fuss — LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT were receiving hate comments and couldn’t even say they were suffering. They had to just live quietly.”

“They went to the National Assembly, the court, held press conferences… and now reconciliation?”

“Before NewJeans members agreed to return, they apologized to LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT, then went back to ADOR. Even with that, many people still want them destroyed. Returning without apologizing, demanding to come back without notifying ADOR — doesn’t that seem strange?”

“Some people say they were criticized because of Coachella, but these people don’t even know which K-pop artists performed at Coachella this year. Since when was Coachella that important in Korea? They attacked a four-second part of a 40-minute performance — is that normal?”
