Lee Jin-ho’s Girlfriend Found Dead Days After His Drunk-Driving Scandal

Comedian Lee Jin-ho, who recently caused controversy for drunk driving, has been shocked by the belated news that his girlfriend was found dead.

According to the Incheon Bupyeong Police Station on the 10th, Lee Jin-ho’s girlfriend, identified as A, was found dead at an apartment in Bupyeong District on the morning of the 5th.

Lee Jin-ho is accused of driving about 100 km from Incheon to his home in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, while under the influence of alcohol on September 24. At that time, his blood alcohol concentration was 0.11%, a level subject to license revocation.

When the incident was first reported, one media outlet stated that the person who reported Lee Jin-ho’s drunk driving to the police was his girlfriend, A. It was later revealed that A had expressed psychological distress to those around her as a result.

The tragic news of A’s death came about 10 days after Lee Jin-ho’s drunk driving case was revealed, adding to the sorrow. Police are currently investigating the detailed circumstances, including any direct or indirect connection between Lee Jin-ho’s drunk driving case and A’s death. A police official stated, “No criminal suspicion has been confirmed,” and added, “Considering the family’s position, it is difficult to disclose detailed information.”

At the time of the drunk driving incident, Lee Jin-ho’s side stated, “Lee Jin-ho believes this incident is entirely his fault without any excuses and is deeply reflecting on his actions,” adding, “The agency also feels responsible and will ensure that Lee Jin-ho sincerely complies with the disciplinary measures and receives the appropriate legal consequences.”

Meanwhile, Lee Jin-ho is also under investigation for illegal gambling charges. In October last year, he admitted to illegal gambling through his personal account, saying, “I promise to repay all my remaining debts no matter what. I will cooperate fully with the police investigation and take responsibility for my wrongdoings.”
As a result, he stepped down from the variety shows he was appearing on, including Knowing Bros (Ask Us Anything).
