Fans noticed that access to some of her videos on her TikTok account, as well as her live broadcasts, required joining her community on the platform for an estimated $85. The controversy intensified after the actress promoted discounts on these subscriptions, coinciding with the leak of the controversial videos.
Jimin’s fans shared screenshots of the actress’s pay-to-view feature, considering it a clear attempt to exploit his fame and monetize her content, especially given the high engagement with her content since her first hints of a relationship in 2022.
The outrage didn’t stop there. Fans also accused some of Taehyung and Jungkook’s fans of encouraging the actress’s behavior by sharing her content and subscribing to her accounts, which will inevitably contribute to the continuation of malicious rumors and the violation of Jimin’s privacy. They called on the agency to take action to stop such behavior and take strict legal action against the actress and those spreading malicious rumors about the BTS member.
Separately, Korean media outlets highlighted several points in Jimin’s recent case, including the agency’s complete disregard for the rumors, which has created a negative image for the idol. They also pointed out that actress Song Da Eun unlawfully violated Jimin’s privacy and defamed by filming a video of him in a residential area and sharing it on her personal account.
Song Da Eun sparked controversy on August 27 after posting several videos on her personal TikTok account. In one of the videos, she was seen waiting for someone outside an elevator door, later revealed to be BTS member Jimin, sparking dating rumors that had first surfaced in 2022.
The video went viral, with fans speculating about the potential relationship between the two. Some speculated that they were dating, given all the previous hints. Others speculated that she might be his ex-girlfriend or just a neighbor, while others suggested she might be a friend of Jimin’s. Speculation continues in the absence of any official statements from the label or the idol.
